
Athletic Administrators Day is this week! Thank you Mrs. Roiger for all of your work organizing and facilitating our athletic and activities programs at GHEC!


GHEC schools will now be closed today, Wednesday December 15. Today will be an E-Learning day for students in grades 6-12. Middle and High School students should check Google Classroom for their E-Learning assignments starting at 11:00 AM. Elementary students should work on their E-Learning (snow day) packets today.


Due to continued heavy fog GHEC schools will now be 2 hours late today, Wednesday, December 15. We will continue to monitor visibility and conditions as the morning continues. Please remember that school is dismissed at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays as well.

Due to the impending winter weather GHEC Schools will be closed on Friday, December 10th, 2021. There will be no E-Learning required for this day.


The Civil Engineering class just finished a unit on surveying. The students learned how to use both a laser and an automatic level to make elevation readings.





CTE students are learning about residential wiring. Topics covered have included the power grid, service to your house, circuit wiring and electrical safety.

On Saturday, December 4th, the 5th and 6th grade Robotics group participated in a tournament sponsored by Martin County Know How. Students all did a wonderful job working with the robots they had been building since October! Here are some pictures of them at the event!

GHEC 5th and 6th graders competed in the Martin County Know How competition this morning in Truman. A great activity to get Jaguar students interested in Robotics!


Students (Preschool - 12th Grade) will be competing in this year’s food drive competition. Each group’s goal is to bring in 3,000 points worth of food. Whichever group brings in the most points will receive bragging rights and an ice-cream party! There will be a school wide reward for students on Tuesday, December 21st if both groups reach their goal. Students can drop their items off in the front entryway. Items will be counted by 10:00 a.m. everyday. The following items will be worth 10 points if you bring them in on the day listed.
Monday: Side Dishes
Tuesday: Vegetables and Fruits
Wednesday: Breakfast Foods
Thursday: Personal Hygiene Items
Friday: Desserts and “Extras”

Granada Huntley East Chain School District is accepting applications for a full-time afternoon/evening custodian position opening. Applicants should be willing to work after-school hours and into the evening. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity and joining our exceptional staff at GHEC Public School, then perhaps this position is perfect for you. Prior experience is beneficial but not required. Starting wage is $17.85 per hour. Additional pay based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Requires the ability to stand/walk for an extended period of time; push/pull to 50 pounds; ability to communicate in a positive manner with the general public and building staff.
Summary of Duties: Knowledge and experience in modern cleaning procedures and practices including floor care, restroom cleanliness, and other general areas.
