
WOW! We had 24 kids stay after school for CER Lego Club on 02.28.22! They had so much fun exploring, building, and making Lego Creations!

March 7-11 is School Social Work Week and we are grateful for all of the work our two amazing social workers do to support our students!

Middle School STEAM class raced their edible cars on Friday. It was fun to watch their creations at work.





This week, we have been celebrating Read Across America. Yesterday was Book Character Day, where staff and students dressed up as a character from a favorite book. Our elementary teachers did not disappoint. Great job!!


Middle and High School Band percussion students attended a clinic at Minnesota State University Mankato run by Mike Thursby and his students. They had the opportunity to work on their Solo and Ensemble selections and heard the MSU percussion ensemble.

The GHEC Theater Performing Arts & National Honor Society Students had the amazing opportunity to attending Chanhassen Dinner Theater's "Footloose" Performance on Wednesday, February 23rd! Thank you GHEC School & GHEC CIA for your support with this fabulous opportunity!


Congratulations to our Middle and High School students that received a Jaguar Proud award recently for demonstrating one or more of the three R's (Respectful, Responsible, Ready)!


Middle school STEAM had some guests in class today. Mr. Storbeck, Mrs. Murphy, Mr. Topinka and Mandy Pytleski all helped to question the students on their design plans, construction and reason for building what they did.

Cohen Byrne (champion) and Lucy Koch (runner-up) were the top two spellers at this year’s GHEC school spelling bee. Last night, Cohen participated in the regional spelling bee in Mankato. He tied for 6th place. Nice job, Cohen!!



Do you or someone you know have a preschool child (birth through pre-kindergarten)? GHEC school offers ECFE classes for parents and other caregivers to provide them resources to support their child.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, February 23rd) is Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Today's wintery weather is a great reminder of the very important role our school bus drivers play in keeping all our students safe as they travel to and from school. We are lucky to have an outstanding team of bus drivers who know our students and are dedicated to making sure they transported safely. Thank you to Truman Bus Company, especially our GHEC bus drivers!!


February 19th - 26th is FFA Week, please note the following dress up days and activities for the remainder of FFA week.
Wednesday: John Deere vs. Case (Drive your tractor to school)
Thursday: Anything but a backpack day (no bigger than a shopping cart to put your stuff in)
Friday: Wear Blue and Gold (FFA Colors)
Community breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the commons, use the activities entrance (free will donation)
(Ag Olympics that were to be held on Tuesday, February 22nd for Middle and High School students will be rescheduled to another date)


GHEC Schools will be closed today, February 22nd due to weather. Today will be an E-Learning day for students in grades 6-12. Middle and high school students course work for today will be posted at 10:00 this morning.


GHEC schools will be starting two hours late today, February 22, due to slick roads.


We all want our children to work hard and learn to be responsible members of the community. Every day, our GHEC school board members are leading the way by example. They give hours of their time so our children can have a meaningful education. February 21st through February 25th is Minnesota School Board Recognition Week. GHEC FFA started FFA week off with a lock-in leading into our no school day tomorrow. Mrs. Nelson and our FFA have a great weeks worth of activities in store!




Denzel Washington said “At the end it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” Thurs., Feb. 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Each day provides many opportunities.


Granada Huntley East Chain School District has an opening for a paraprofessional (approximately 7 hours per day).


We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Mr. Storbeck had an opportunity to read a Valentine’s Day story to elementary students. It was a fun activity. Not sure who had more fun. Have a great week!
