GHEC Middle and High School Students and Families,

It is hard to believe that we only have 14 days of school until the holiday break.

GHEC Student Council will again be sponsoring a food drive competition this December. Both middle and high school students will have the goal of bringing in 3,000 points worth of food (with each food item donated being worth roughly 10 points). Items for donation can be brought to the front entry way of the school. Thank you in advance for your support of the food drive going to support our community during the holiday season.

Upcoming Calendar Reminders:

Tuesday, December 21st - Holiday Sweater Day

Wednesday, December 22nd - Quarter 2 JagTag Day. Students earning a JagTag pass will be able to attend school asynchronously.

December 23rd to January 2nd - No School, Christmas Break

Monday, January 3rd - School Resumes

Friday, January 22 - Quarter 2/Semester 1 Ends

Being three full months into the school year, we are tightening up our expectations surrounding some procedural items during the school day. It is our expectation that students have their cell phones (and headphones/ear-pods) out of sight during class time. We also have made our expectations surrounding hats and hoods not being worn during the school day clear as well. While these are minor items during the school day, we do not want continued conversations surrounding these points to be a distraction to the important education happening in our classrooms each day. Please encourage your student(s) to make smart choices surrounding both of these items, and we are grateful for the many great examples of this present in our student body each day.

We are looking forward to a great few weeks of school in December, and wrapping up the first semester of the year on a successful note. Please check in with your students on how second quarter is going and help encourage them to put their best effort into their second-quarter classes.

Go Jaguars!
