My name is Alex Roorda and I am the High School Mathematics teacher here at Granada-Huntley East Chain School. This is my eighth year at GHEC, but it is my 13th year of teaching overall. I graduated from North Dakota State University (GO BISON!) with a degree in Mathematics Education and St. Mary's University of Minnesota with a Master's of Arts in Education degree. I've taught everything from 7th grade Pre-Algebra to College Algebra over my career and I strive to bring a fun, enjoyable, and challenging environment to math class, no matter the grade or level. I am also the head football coach for GHEC-Truman Jaguars and serve on various groups throughout the school.
My wife, Katie, and I have four kids, Brock is in sixth grade, Bentley is in second grade, Brielle is in 3-year old preschool, and Blakely is one. We live on Katie's family farm outside of East Chain that has been in her family for close to 100 years.
I look forward to another fantastic year! Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions at alex.roorda@ghec.k12.mn.us or by calling the school at 507-447-2211.
